I’ve been curating this small space in my mind my entire life - while floating through the crystal clear water of the Abaco Islands surrounded by sea stars, while making friends with the bearded bartender and his lovely wife at my favorite restaurant on the Jersey Shore, while showing up for racial justice with SURJNJ, while I helped my husband design and build homes in our local community, and even while listening to John Legend and making homemade bolognese for my family on a Sunday afternoon. All of my experiences have inspired me to create the tiny shop that I call Conch Shell Home + Design.
Located inside the Pineapple Marketplace on Pine Avenue in Anna Maria Island, Conch Shell is a 10x10 foot space full of coastal treasures that will transport you to that photo of the pristine white beach you have as your screensaver. My mission is to curate a beautiful collection of home goods to promote artisans, artists, and coastal creators. I am so lucky and proud to call most of the incredibly talented people my friends. There’s a story behind every piece - from Dutzi handmade bags that support the women of Yucatán, to art by Jeanne Connell made with shark teeth hand-picked off the Florida coast, to non-toxic beauty products from Pirette. My goal is to be able to donate a portion of my profits to causes that are near and dear to my heart, starting with Black Lives Matter.
Like cooking with the best ingredients, everything I bring into my home matters to me and is special in some way. I’ve brought that same attitude into my tiny shop. It’s small but mighty. I love everything in there and I hope you love it too!
XOXO,
Deb
